Arraignment

WHAT IS AN ARRAIGNMENT HEARING AND CAN I WAVE IT SO I DO NOT HAVE TO APPEAR

At arraignment in Circuit or County Court the defendant will be advised of the charges against him or her and the defendant will normally enter a plea of not guilty. A defendant represent by counsel may waive arraignment through his or her counsel. By waiving arraignment, the defendant, does not have to appear,  is acknowledging he or she is aware of the charges and is pleading not guilty.
